Molly was raised and born in Pennsylvania. She began her professional career when she was thirteen, at the Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. In the Arden Theater production of Into the Woods, she won a Barrymore Award for playing Little Red Ridinghood. After making her Broadway debut, aged 15, she reprised her character and received a Drama League Award. Molly appeared on Broadway in the 2004 production of Fiddler on the Roof. In 2008, she received her B.A. from Princeton University. After that, she went to Princeton University where she was part of the Triangle Club. She received a bachelor's degree in 2008. At this time, Wendy Greenhut made her Disney College Road Trip debut. Molly was able to begin her professional career after having completed her Off-Broadway stage debuts, which included End Days and The Wonderful Maladys on HBO Pilot.
